What if you could read dreams?
To feel the weight of its absurdism, to interpret the symbolism of those dreams?
Reading "Satanic Verses" by Salman Rushdie is like that. It may not be your
dream, but it contains the essence of dreams, so that reading this book feels
like reading dreams – so absurd and complicated, but it makes total sense, and
unlike the dreams that you dream in your sleep, it never fades away from your
memory. In fact, this book has taken root in my deepest subconscious, making me wonder whether I will ever be able to shake off its memory, which, by
the way, I have no intention of doing. Because The Satanic Verses is such a brilliant piece of literature, it becomes essential to be remembered by
humankind for decades.
